Four-Out-Of-Five Ain’t Bad

August 4th, 2006 | by MadHacktress |

Yesterday Stephen Harper - who is apparently a Lucas Arts production - struck back, according to CTV.ca at Liberals by saying that our leaders and the party itself don’t know what we believe in.

Harper states that his party, the Conservative Republican Party of Canada, has “a government to run and things to get done.” Well, get to ‘er there Stevie-Boy. Let’s start with the wait times, shall we?

Oh, uh… whoops, I mean, let’s start with The New Number Five. I forgot that we, the public, are supposed to forget that the wait times guarantee pledge ever existed. We’re supposed to remember that we’re strengthening our nation abroad - or something.

In his speech, which covered topics such as his party’s sole, only and complete commitment to our troops (more on that later), their commitment to moving forward with (four out of five of) their promises, and a special little moment to take a personal dig a Michael Ignatieff - how sweet.

And another thing (yep, now I’m just ranting) I absolutely loathe hearing right-wing politicos claiming that lefty liberals don’t support our troops. Hells yes, we support the troops - we just don’t think that they should be there anymore. We can support them while they’re tucked safely in to their Canadian beds.

Our troops do not have to be dying on foreign soil to be supported.
