Bob Rae Made Contributions to NPD Candidates! Oh The Horror!
September 21st, 2006 | by MadHacktress |It actually took me several minutes to come up with more than “so what”. But, seriously: so what?
Did anyone not realize that he was the former leader of the Ontario NDP? (oh yeah, please stop calling it the NDP Party - that’s redundant; it’s like saying the Rio Grande River)
If you were coherent during the early nineties you know that Bob Rae was quite infamous in Ontario for his tenure as the Premier during Ontario’s recession. Whether or not it was caused by him, exacerbated by him, or he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time I will leave up to the experts (or even someone who’re read more than a paragraph on the subject, which excludes me).
As a leadership candidate I don’t particularly like the idea of Bob Rae as the future leader of our nation; but if he receives the Liberal Party leadership nod I will continue to support my party.
So again I say: so what. Bob Rae made contributions to politicians who he supports and, indeed, may even be friends. Who cares what party they’re a part of? One of the great things about this nation is that we can do this kind of thing if we want to. Our political freedoms should be exemplified by our leaders, not abhorred.
I have a friend who’s a federal Liberal and provincial Conservative. A total red herring to this post, but I wanted to mention it anyhow.

The whole thing stirs me to indifference.
