Accompanying article: Prehistoric ecosystem found in Israeli cave!

Now, I’m all for science and the exploration of it… but what about these poor little creature? Millions of years they have existed in isolation without exposure to the many and varied things in *our* ecosystem. What it going to happen when the two mix - which is already underway. The scienctists who explorer the cave - and especially the quarriers who found it - were most definitely not sterilized and even the most harmless of bacteria or fungii - to you and I - maybe be devastating to these little no-eyed guys.

Earth is robust and strong as a whole, but she is fragile and vulnerable at the same time. It takes a lot of general strikes to bring down a human for good, but it doesn’t take much to break a fingernail. These… fingernail breaks on the Earth - the loss of delicate creatures whose ecosystems are easily destroyed and thrown out of balance - are a tragedy; each and every one. I sincerely hope this does not turn out to be such a case. These 8 species deserve to live out their evolution as it was meant to be…

…it’s time to move the quarry, boys.

It’s like Goa and the Galapagos islands. Its a sort of catch-22 situation where we really want to study these creatures that exist and have existed for more years than we can comprehend, but in studying them we risk affecting that balance that has kept them here.
